Have you ever thought back through your journey to reading? Or maybe you’ve always been a consistent, avid reader. I was just thinking about mine the other day and noticed certain catalysts that set (and reset) my reading journey into motion. And I thought why not put pen to paper, or rather, hands to keyboard and record that story of mine! I love looking back and mapping out particular paths of my life. It’s so interesting to examine and consolidate in hindsight.

There’s a haunted mansion and a spicy romance. Spooks and haunts and things that go bump in the night. I couldn’t put it down — I had to find out the mystery behind the mysterious Havenwood Manor! The Best Fantasy Romance Books on Kindle Unlimited
Fantasy + Romance = Romantasy! These are my two favorite genres and I absolutely love when they collide. You get the elements of a high fantasy world with a main plotline that focuses heavily on a romantic relationship with a fantastical being and probably lots of smutty bits! I went on a huge Fantasy Romance kick in May and I thought it’d be fun to throw together a list of all the Fantasy Romance books and series that have caught my eye over on Kindle Unlimited! IT’S TIME! The Crown of Gilded Bones is the third book in the Blood and Ash Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout and just recently released. This series combines vampire and mythic themes and it’s one of my all-time favorites! Book 21 of 2021: Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
BRIEFING NOTE: Illuminae is the first book in the YA space opera fantasy series, The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. It’s a fun and epic YA sci-fi novel set in space with a gang of badass, lovable, and snarky characters. It has everything I love in a story and more! AND THE BOOK CONCEPT. I also listened to the audiobook. It was such a unique reading experience for my 21st read of 2021! And to celebrate, I thought I’d recap 21 things I loved about Illuminae.
Series Review: The Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff
The Nevernight Chronicle took me completely by surprise. I went into it almost totally blind and I ended up loving it! This story is dark and mysterious, epic and unpredictable, smutty and snarky. There’s shadow magic, assassins, mythical gods, romance, swords, and pools of blood (literally). It’s savage and fierce but filled with humor, love, light, and hope. It is so much more than it appears! So let’s review The Nevernight Chronicle by Jay Kristoff.
