My husband and I just celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary! It’s hard to believe 5 years have passed already. Our official anniversary was last week and we got to spend that time together traveling and enjoying our favorite things - new experiences, good food + drinks, and each other! I didn't get much reading done, but I'm totally okay with that.
AND. What feels like 100 years ago, @foreverbookedup tagged me in the #relationshipstorystack challenge and I thought what better way to showcase 5 years together than to try this challenge out. Let me tell you, it was kind of hard! But also fun and here's what I've come up with.
All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata
Why I Chose It
Looking back, I sometimes find the journey that led to where Nate and I first met to be full of fate and magic. Both of our families moved us around as kids and essentially more moving and failed relationships brought us together in SC.

I still need to read this one and am definitely looking forward to reading more of Mariana Zapata soon.
Matched by Ally Condie
Why I Chose It
We both knew pretty early on that we'd found our match in each other, although we didn't tell each other that until much later on, and spent the next 3 years growing and forming a life together.

I read this series several years ago - It wasn’t my favorite, but it was an interesting take on a dystopian society reminiscent of the Divergent and Selection series.
With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo
Why I Chose It
After pretty much our first date, we spent almost every day together in those early years. One of our favorite pastimes then (and still today) is cooking and having good food together, creating fun culinary experiences at home with each other. My hubby is one hell of a chef and bartender.

Loved this coming-of-age story. It was beautifully written. I can’t wait to read more of Elizabeth’s work.
The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks
Why I Chose It
In 2015 we were engaged in Charleston, SC, and married the following year in the same place!

Book 2 in The Notebook series by Nicholas Sparks.
After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Why I Chose It
5 years married now, almost 10 years together overall, 2 dogs, lots of fun and also challenging life experiences later and it's still the best time of my life.

TJR is another author I can’t wait to get to and this book will probably be my first!

Oh hey, friend!

Lately I’ve been loving romances with a bit more oomph. A bit more passion. A bit more angst. A bit more drama and conflict! Romantic suspense is any genre of romance that features a prominent mystery, suspense or thriller element. It’s a subgenre that I’ve always loved, but not one that I’ve sought after in the longest time, until recently. Here are 5 romantic suspense series to add to your to-be-read list today!
