Leah's Little Pleasures: Bookstagram + Book Blog Newbie Tag
Bookstagram (and Book Blog) Newbie Tag Challenge!
Hey there! My name’s Leah, the voice behind Leah’s Little Pleasures. I saw this challenge over at @BlushingBibliophile (formerly @HomeWorkAndHorseplay) and thought it would be a great way to showcase and introduce myself in this space as a new book blogger and bookstagrammer! Welcome.
But, first, a little about me!
As I said, I'm Leah, the voice behind Leah’s Little Pleasures. I’m a cozy connoisseur & bountiful book buyer. I love guzzling coffee and endlessly reading fantasy & romance books. I also love romantasy, YA stories, and cozy mysteries. I’m a wife, dog mama x2, and aspiring writer and also a foodie. My handle and book blog name are actually a play on the saying "Life's Little Pleasures" and some of my little pleasures in life are staying cozy, reading a good book, and creating. I love sharing reviews of my latest favorite story, piles and stacks of book recommendations, and creative, cozy, bookish aesthetic content. I’m thrilled to have you here and I’m so excited to start this journey. I’ve always loved bookstagram and, of course, books and reading, and to finally dip my toe in the waters here is really exciting. So, again, welcome! And now onto the newbie book tag!
1. Why Do You Love To Read?
I love to read for the unforgettable journey of being swept away to a new world while still living within my own. I also love feeling seen through words.
2. Do You Have A Favorite Place To Read?
I really enjoy reading outside, but I don’t do it as frequently as I’d like! I usually curl up on my couch in the living room or in bed. I’m hoping my reading room will be done soon so I can spend time in there, too.
3. What Book or Series Got You Into Reading?
It was the Harry Potter series that did it for me. That fantasy world spoke to me in profound ways. It was as though that story was written just for me.
4. What Kind of Books Do You Like To Read?
My favorite genres are fantasy and romance. I also love YA stories, cozy mysteries, and romantasy. I occasionally enjoy historical fiction as well! I’m also partial to any stories with time travel, sci-fi, and dystopian elements.
5. Do You Prefer Paperback or Hardcovers Books? Why?
Definitely paperbacks, and I’m honestly not sure why! Maybe because they’re easier to store and travel with? Even read, honestly. But you know what I noticed recently? I’m partial to solely paperbacks when it comes to thrillers and romances. But when it comes to fantasy books I seem to be fine with both. I’ll sometimes even just order the hardcover when given the option of both.
6. Do You Read More Than One Book At A Time?
Sometimes. I noticed recently that I read faster when I focus solely on one book at a time. But there are times when I’ll have a physical copy going as well as an e-copy.
7. What Book Or Book Series Are You Most Excited To Read This Year?
Definitely ACOTAR! I keep seeing it everywhere on Bookstagram. But also, the Shatter Me series and The Simple Wild!
8. Do You Reread Books? Why Or Why Not?
Occasionally! It’s been a while since I have.
9. Do You Have A Monthly Book Budget?
In a sense. It’s not always the same month over month, but I do adhere to a monthly budget in general and I try to include what books I’d like to get in that budget.
10. What Question(s) Would You Like To Ask Your Favorite Bookstagrammers?
What made you start and why do you keep doing it?
What’s something you’ve tried in the community, but maybe wouldn’t do again?
How do I work with publishers if I’d like to get advance copies of books (because I didn’t really know that was a thing until I joined this platform!)?
Well, that’s it! I hope you’ll stick around.
I’d love to get to know a little about you. Tell me something bookish or answer one of the questions above.

Oh hey, friend!
I’m Leah. Cozy connoisseur and bountiful book buyer. I have a minor obsession with getting lost in the pages of a good book, guzzling coffee, and thriving at home. Yoga pants, wine, and essential oils are also my jam. I'm truly just a homebody at heart with a knack for content creation, flatlays & cozy shots. This is my creative space.
Happy New Year! I know I feel and say this every year now in my adult life — but 2022 FLEW by! I mean flew. I still can’t believe it’s a new year, but I’d have to say, this time around I’m glad for it. 2022 was simultanously a good and very, very hard year for us and I was ready for that clean slate feeling of a new year. Today, I’m reflecting on my 2022 mantra and looking back at how those words actually took affect in my life.
