25+ Ways To Quarantine and Chill

Quarantine and Chill Blog Photo.JPG

aka Our Cheeky Quarantivities (Quarantine Activities) or even Quaran-chill-ities (Quarantine and Chill Activities), if you will

I can maybe keep going 😂🤭

By now, I think we’re all just about homebound due to COVID-19 & for sure looking for ways to keep our minds occupied so we can just quarantine and chill. Am I right?! Well, Nate & I are probably the King & Queen of bingeing and now quarantine activities. One of our favorite past times is watching an epic movie or TV series, and we both have love for podcasts! Here’s a look at all the new shows, podcasts, and books we’ve been bingeing during this quarantine time! Featuring Leah’s Bookshelf-ter In Place, Social Netflixing, & Pod-demics!

Social Netflixing

Which is actually not limited to Netflix! Keep your social distancing up with these shows which we’ve started (& finished) since #quarantinelife began.

  1. Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu) It’s also a book if you’re into that! I loved the book.

  2. The Letter To The King (Netflix) It’s like the teen version of Game of Thrones.

  3. Tiger King (Netflix) This one is just utterly insane & it feels like almost everyone in the entire world has watched it by now!

  4. Self Made (Netflix) One of my all time favorite series inspired by a real life woman’s journey through life & entrepreneurship.

  5. Unorthodox (Netflix) Also inspired by a real life woman’s story as she makes her way out of the Hasidic Jewish Community.

  6. How To Fix a Drug Scandal (Netflix) A crazy docuseries about 2 drug lab chemists & how they’re actions affected their state’s judicial system.

  7. Castle Rock (Hulu) This is actually what we’re currently watching & it’s completely inspired by the world of Stephen King. So, yes it’s a bit spooky!

Pod-demics

These have been keeping me company during uber quiet work-from-home-days. You can find them on Spotify. They are SO interesting, and some of these episodes are quite bizarre & a little chilling!

  1. Supernatural

  2. March Mysteries // April Fooled

  3. The Shrink Next Door

Leah’s Bookshelf-ter in Place

I’m a bit of a bookworm if I do say so myself and this is another way I’ve been able to quarantine and chill out. Here are all the books I’ve read so far in 2020 (more than half during #quarantinelife).

  1. The Hazel Wood

  2. Little Fires Everything

  3. The Selection & The Elite (I’m excited to read the entire series, too!)

  4. The Hunting Party

  5. Woven in Moonlight

  6. I’m currently reading War Storms - the 4th book in The Red Queen Series & The Simple Wild.

Other Binge-Notable Mentions

Also from 2020 so far. These we got into before coronavirus and quarantine happened, but we highly recommend while quarantine and chill life continues! I know - we can definitely binge some TV shows!

  1. Locke & Key (Netflix) It’s like The Haunting of Hill House meets Narnia meets The Series of Unfortunate Events.

  2. I Am Not Okay With This (Netflix) This one surprised me. Think Eleven from Stranger Things meets X-Men.

  3. The Witcher (Netflix) The entire season is like the first episode of Game of Thrones where you have no idea who anyone is or what’s happening. It’s also like Westworld in the sense that you have no idea WHEN anything is happening. My take: You’ll be confused until you get to the 4th or 5th episode & your favorite part of this season will be the last 5 seconds - and no, not because it’s ending!! I believe this one is also a book series & another season is coming on Netflix.

  4. The Stranger (Netflix) This one’s a little creepy, but reaaally good! I’m not sure how I felt about the ending, but it’s a great psychological thriller. Also based on a book!

  5. Cheer (Netflix) This one was all me! Not Nate’s kind of thing. Reminded me of my competitive dance days!

  6. Messiah (Netflix) A really interesting take on the 2nd coming - Is he the real thing or a fake?! I am saddened to say, though, that Netflix canceled this show after 1 season.

  7. Murder In The Heartland (Hulu) Hulu has an amazing True Crime selection. This was just one of our recent favorites.

  8. The Accident (Hulu) A British miniseries about a small town looking for justice after a terrible accident at a construction site.

  9. The Reprisal (Hulu) A reaaaally good gangster revenge story without the gore & really awful things.

  10. Looking for Alaska (Hulu) A heartfelt, feel good story about the lives of a handful of teenagers. It will make you cry.

Life During Covid-19 Otherwise

Honestly, quarantine life doesn’t feel much different than our normal life. Yes, we’re homebound 100% of the time & we have to be uber careful when we leave the house, but Nate & I, at heart, are homebodies. We’re trying to make the most of everything considering & we’re also trying to enjoy it! Here’s what a typical day in the life looks like for us at the moment and some of our favorite quarantine activities.

Daily Routine

  • Wake up 1-2 hours before work

  • ME: Coffee & bible study

  • Work from 9-5: Nate works downstairs & I work upstairs.

  • Cook dinner & spend quality time together

  • ME: Creativity block or self care time

  • Staying active - this could fall anywhere between the above as my schedule permits. Sometimes I do a workout in the morning or at lunch or right after I’ve wrapped up the work day. It just depends on the day & my flow.

Weekends

  • Lots of creativity & rest time - this might include taking or editing pictures, planning my Instagram content & grid, writing or reading.

  • Occasionally, Nate leaves the house to get us essential supplies & things. We’re trying to order as much as we can online.

  • House projects - particularly our kitchen renovation! That’s monopolized most of our “free” time on the weekends up until now. We’re getting close to wrapping up!

  • We also love hangin’ on the patio with a cocktail or two >> check out our Favorite Weekend Cocktails here!
