6 Christmassy Books I Read & Loved Last Year

In this list you’ll find tropes like brother’s best friend, friends to lovers, second chance romance, and reverse grumpy x sunshine as well as christmassy settings like tree farms and snowy mountain getaways with festive activities and lots of holiday cheer. They are all feel-good and heartwarming with only a few being intense and extra spicy.

See below for more details.

feel-good & heartwarming

❤️ CLEAN TO MILDly SPICY ❤️

A CROSS-COUNTRY CHRISTMAS is a wonderful second chance story with a cozy road trip, christmassy towns, and her brother’s best friend!

LOVELIGHT FARMS was pure magical christmassy bliss with a tree farm and friends to lovers romance.

🌶️ but make it extra spicy 🌶️

WALKING IN A WITCHY WONDERLAND is a swoony and magical holiday glimpse into the lives of our favorite couples (and couples to be) in the Stay A Spell series. There are 5 short stories that happen alongside and within the confines of the first 3 novels (Wolf Gone Wild, Don’t Hex and Drive, and Witches Get Stitches) with the cleverest titles and the most bewitching moments. Check out my blog review here!

WINDOW SHOPPING, heartwarming and hawt, this is a reverse grumpy x sunshine, workplace romance that is festive and feisty.

intense & heartbreaking, but absolutely beautiful

ALWAYS IN DECEMBER is like a big warm, yet incredibly sad, nostalgic hug that will make you cry. Fair warning. ❤️

THE PLIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a big energy book and quite a dynamic read that includes a mountain getaway over Christmas with family and a beautiful second chance romance. 🌶️

7 Christmas Books I’m Excited To Read This Winter

❤️ CLEAN TO MILDly SPICY ❤️

FAKING CHRISTMAS is a sweet, closed door, fake dating, enemies to lovers holiday romance set in a Christmas lodge in Vermont for a family holiday getaway.

MERRY EX-MAS is a sweet, small town, second chance romance with a dash of not-so-fake flirting, a tiny bit of enemies to lovers and just enough forced proximity to make things sizzle.

ONE LAST GIFT is an epic holiday romance about a young woman who finds herself lost and at a crossroads and one last gift from her brother might give her another chance at life and love. (this is the same author as Always In December, so I’m expecting many tears).

CHRISTMAS AT THE RANCH is a story about unexpected love and a reclusive writer who inadvertantly ventures to Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a Christmas party where she is the guest of honor and meets Drew.

A MAGICAL NEW YORK CHRISTMAS is a magical holiday love story set at the glamorous Plaza Hotel in New York City with a struggling journalist and handsome British visitor.

🌶️ but make it spicy 🌶️

BOOKED FOR THE HOLIDAYS is a small town, single dad, friends to lover, grumpy x sunshine, age gap, rival business owners holiday romance! Holy great tropes.

HOW THE GRUMP SAVED CHRISTMAS is a snowy, small town Christmas romance with a grumpy love interest, Christmas Village & family farm, and an HEA with some spice.

The One I’ve Read So Far This Year & LOVED

In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren

❤️ clean to mildly spicy ❤️

This was the best thing ever. EVER. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE. I don’t know why I took so long to read this! My heart was filled with such joy when I finished. It was honestly fit to burst. So wholesome and sweet and funny. This is a christmassy story wrapped in themes of going all in and for it, not holding back, taking chances, living out loud, changing things up, making mistakes and learning from them. I loved it! This story was just what I needed.

YOU CAN ALSO EXPECT:

💚 cinnamon roll love interest
😚 forced proximity
💫 time loop
🏔️ mountain getaway
🌠 a Christmas wish
💘 friends to lovers
🥰 childhood crush
🎄 found family
🪄 magical realism
