My Summer Reading List of 2020

I can’t believe summer is over halfway over! Or is it actually almost over?! The fact that it’s basically August is incredibly mind-boggling! In South Carolina, we’ll have at least 3 more months of summer weather so I never really know when to consider summer over, haha 😂🤭 Either way, before it’s really not summer, I wanted to make sure I shared my summer reading list with y’all! 7 summer spines and 5 more I’d like to read after that!

I’d love to know your thoughts and what you’re reading this summer once you dive in! Have you read any of these or are they on your TBR? Jump down to the comments section to share with me!

What I’ve Read So Far

1 // Heir Of Fire | ★★★★★⁣

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3)Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series just keeps getting better and better! I adored all of the new main-ish characters - especially Manon, Abraxos, Rowan, and Aedion. Emrys was another favorite; I want to work in his kitchen and listen to all his stories! So excited to see how the story continues in Queen of Shadows 😍

2 // Beach Read | ★★★★

Beach ReadBeach Read by Emily Henry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beach Read had everything I love in a rom-com! It was fast-paced, witty, and romantic and also heartfelt, real, and raw. I found myself laughing out loud, crying, gasping, and feeling so at home reading this. I loved the beachy, writer vibe, and the growth of Gus and January both together and individually was just all the good feels. And OH MY, GUS! Steamy, heartthrob? Check, check, check! I need more of these easy romances in my life. Such a fun and cute story!

With the Fire on HighWith the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my heart! ❤ What a beautiful coming of age story! All the girl power to Emoni and her 'Buela. This entire story and every character in it were rich of life. The food, the heritage, the family legacy, and life experiences. This book made me warm and fuzzy and still also challenged my view of the world and of life. Totally here for that. I want a book 2! I need to see what happens in Emoni's next chapter. I love the way she handles, approaches, and carries herself through life. I'd also please like an accompanying cookbook and to see this on-screen ASAP. A beautifully crafted, smooth read with short chapters that just keep on giving. An absolute must-read in 2020!

August Reads :

A lose TBR and hopefuls list based on what left’s of my summer reading list. I’ll also be reading Books 5 + 6 of the Throne of Glass Series (Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn) with my #LateToTheToGParty reading group! And maybe even an ARC e-book from NetGalley - I’ve got several of those stacking up!

September Reads:

Super similar to August, these are my hopefuls based on the remainder of my summer reading list stack! I’ll likely be reading the 7th and final book (Kingdom of Ash) in the Throne of Glass series, as well (I’m already crying about it 😭😭😭) and hopefully an ARC e-book from NetGalley!

What Might Get Pushed

My TBR list, both physical and digital, is getting so very long! I’d especially like to get through my current physical back logged books, but I’ve also been looking at a number of diverse reads, both fiction and nonfiction, that I want to add in. These will likely come first and honestly what I’d like to give my time to primarily.

The 3rd book in The Selection Series, a young adult fantasy and dystopian series that’s a cross between The Hunger Games and The Bachelor! These books have been easy reads for me. I know they can wait a little while so I focus on other important reading areas.

I’ve seen so many mixed reviews that I’ve yet to pick this one up yet!

Another one that I know can be put on hold for a bit and that will be ready and waiting for me when it’s time!
