8 Books I Read In February
February was the month of slowly destroying my psyche with intense romances and strange synchronies across all the books I read lol. I swear though - basic rom-coms may just not cut it anymore!
Check out the 8 books I read in February.

The Ravenhood Series
RATING: ★★★★★
Available On Kindle Unlimited
The Ravenhood Series has consumed my entire life and I will *never* be the same because of it. And I will forever be a Raven.
I read the series on Kindle Unlimited and loved it so much I immediately had to order physical copies for my collection.
Here are some of my notes from each book while I was reading!

I had intended this to just be my first read in February, not a I-need-to-finish-this-before-I-go-to-sleep-on-the-same-day-I-started kind of read.
E X O D U S | ★★★★★
This book is pure pain and torture.

The healing in this book is so NECESSARY and beautiful. I have never loved a story so much and I never want it to end!

The Boyfriend Project Series - Book 2
RATING: ★★★★.5
In The Boyfriend Project Series, Samiah, London and Taylor are brought together after they discover they're all dating the same guy.
The beginning of the series, The Boyfriend Project, follows their budding friendship and Samiah's story as she develops a cool app and meets Daniel.
In The Dating Playbook, we get Taylor's story! And The Hookup Plan, coming later this year, is London’s story.
Overall, The Dating Playbook was super cute!!
I read The Boyfriend Project in 2020 and loved it (review + rating: ★★★★★). That one was a workplace romance which I’m a bit more partial to!
TDP was an easy-going and feel-good romance that was also very heartfelt and thoughtful with character depth and growth.
The snarky banter and mutual pining were done so well. I will never tire of the fake dating/forced proximity trope either!

Crescent City Series - Book 1 Reread
RATING: ★★★★★
Oof, House of Earth and Blood was JUST as good as I remember (review + rating: ★★★★★)!
From the fierce friendships, found family, slow burn enemies to lovers romance to the epic, urban fantasy world, allll the magical beings, and murder mystery!!!
Angels x demons is one of my favorite fantasy story tropes, too.
Ultimately, I am so glad that I took the time to reread this. There were many, albeit minor, plot details that I'd totallyyy forgotten about!
Now I am ready, ready, ready for House of Sky and Breath.

A Not So Meet Cute
RATING: ★★★★
Well this was super cute! It started out really strong for me.
I loved the snarky-ness, dual POVs, and anticipated fake dating/forced proximity and hate to love tropes.
It was my first billionaire romance, too.
It was a bit predictable and kind of cheesy but in the best kind of rom-com way with unexpected and appreciated burst out loud, laughing moments!
While I laughed a whole bunch, I also found myself rolling my eyes a little by the end. But, overall, I enjoyed it. And she is very spicy!!!

Meet Me In The Margins
RATING: ★★★★
Another super cute rom-com, but in a completely different way than A Not So Meet Cute.
This one was quirky and silly filled with wit, dry humor, and all the self-deprecation.
It's a book about books set in a Nashville publishing house with a mystery man & editor and passing notes on post-its!
The romance left me wanting a little, BUT the chemistry and build up was perfect.
I was unable to suppress my grin throughout most of it and found myself smiling ear to ear by the end!

It Ends With Us
RATING: ★★★
The way I’ve seen people gush over how good this book is (it’s definitely a Bookstagram darling!), I was expecting something totally different.
This book just made me really sad, overall, despite the ending.
I was really loving it to a point, and then I just didn't know how to feel about it. There were elements I greatly loved and others I did not. It's definitely an imperfect, raw, and very flawed kind of love story and will absolutely pull at your heartstrings and probably make you mad.
I'm not sure it was the best pick as my first CoHo book... but I'm not giving up yet.
Please be sure to check the trigger warnings before reading!

Surrounded by Synchronies
So, a weird thing that happened to me this month while reading was noticing unusual similarities across all the books I read! Not like typical book tropes, but more unusual similarities... like names, places, word choice, or a unique dialogue or theme... that I likely would not have noticed had I not read the books back to back.
Here’s several from my February reading:
📖 Flock/Exodus — Our main girl is Cecelia.
📖 Meet Me In The Margins — The MC in this book, Savannah, is also writing a book with a main character named Cecelia. Savannah's family name is also Cade and they’re a prominent family in the book.
📖 A Not So Meet Cute — The male MCs family name is Cade and they’re a prominent, powerhouse family in this world.
📖 The Finish Line — Cecilia's love of gardening.
📖 It Ends With Us — Lily's love of gardening.
This happened to me continuously throughout the month of February (and is kind of still happening lol).
With every book I picked up, there was a weird theme, or what I'm calling synchrony, linking it to the last book I read 😂😯
It’s wild.
AND. Two elements I’m exploring in my writing in 2 separate stories both show up in my last read of the month. One, a general theme and another, a dialogue scenario between 2 characters.
And Twosday 2/22/22 was also this month!
I cannot with all this mystic energy the universe is throwing at me. LOL
Do ever notice similarities (synchronies) across the books you’re reading?
That seems to be a resounding yes for me, HA.
Or tell me about the book that left its mark on you in February!
The Ravenhood Series did that for me!
